until now i have use a program called "wiretap" to record the audio coming out of pd....as [sfwrite~] doesn't seem to work with osX.

anyone here know how to get pd to record my audio directly?

ok, i found one solution, which is to record the audio into an array, and then write the array to an audio file. but, if anyone has any better ideas, plz let me know.

I have not used Pd on OS X, but the inbuilt [writesf~] should work on all platforms that Pd works on. Creation argument is number of channels, messages control the format.

I use Pd and writesf~ without problems on OS X 10.3.6. Tell me if I can be of help

ah thanks mate. i think i got it pretty much sorted now. ...but i'm still only getting it to write .wav files. ...are you able to write directly to .aif
