Is there a way to do this? I want an object to instantiate itself earlier on in the raw code.
I could cut and paste everything into proper order but that almost always ends up snipping out connection cords in the process.
If I could, I'd just edit the raw text of the pd file but connections are based on the order of object instantiation and each line of code dedicated to a connection would become worthless for any objects that were instantiated after the one you rearranged.
Is there some kind of application that changes the connections according to how the objects are rearranged?

Rearrange order of object instantiation without affecting connections

really interesting question. i'm sure there will be an elegant answer.
my suggestions would be to think about putting things into subpatches to isolate them, or else maybe find a workaround using sends / receives?
i bet someone here has a better idea though
