Hey all, pd/vst noob here. Can you share pdvsts with other people even if they don't have PD installed?

Sharing pdvst patches?

Why don't they have pd installed? The source is open!

True, but if people don't want to install something they're not familiar with to run VSTs I'm making, that'd be cool. Just wondering how cleanly you can distribute PdVSTs. Anybody got an actual answer?

You have a machine that you want to install and run a pdVst on, but don't want to install pd? You could package them together in a zip maybe? then no one has to go to http://crca.ucsd.edu/~jsarlo/pdvst/.
You could make your vsts seem independent- by packaging them with the pdVst package. Script it up that pd instance with a little with -nogui flags and whatnot to make the ui transparent.

I tried uninstalling pd-extended yesterday and my PdVSTs still worked, so it seems like it's a standalone? Either that or it was a fluke. Thanks for answering though!
