One of my goals for this Pd-extended 0.43.4 release is to have complete translations of both the interface and the help search for as many languages as possible. Transifex makes this easy to do, you contribute 10 minutes and improve what's there, or finish a translation completely. To translate Pd, you just need to create an account on transifex (which is all free software, by the way), and then go to these two pages and edit and review the translations right in your browser:

was just checking out the translations and come up with a doubt: since most of the discussion on pd happens in english, i think it would be good practice to keep some labels from being translated.

a good example is "canvas". it's very confusing to find it translated with a different label in the localized version, it's like translating "bang". also canvas is an object itself and to create one you have to use [cnv], not the translated word.

This is something to discuss with the other translators who've worked on your language. You can either send a message via transifex, or you can "download for use" the translation, and look at the email addresses listed at the top of the translation .po file.

I think that is going to be true for many translations, but not true for all. For example, languages that use non-Latin alphabets might want to transliterate the word "bang" into their own alphabet.
