This might be a question for an Ableton forum but I will try here first. I just want to be able to use my PD Patch to be able to control various things inside Ableton. As of right now when I use ctlout with a simple Hslider I can see in Ableton the MIDI is working but when I try to midi map to a control surface, it doesn't map. I should note that noteout works fine. I can generate MIDI tones with PD through Ableton and my VSTS just fine. But for some reason I can't get ctrlout to work with control surfaces.
I am wondering if switching window focus to PD to modify the MIDI control causes a problem? Do the ctrlout messages need to be formatted in some different way for Ableton to use them as control messages rather than Midi note messages? Another dumb question but is the trial of Ableton limited to this (I don't beleive it is)?
