hello i come from the darkside... yep a max msp user
But i'd like to learn PD because the open source community rocks!!!
now saying that im no msp guru i'v only spent a couple of months working on it so im a bit of an all round noob

but its time to enter the world of linux
i've done some googling but there are so many distros and with my limited knowledge it can be quite confusing
ive played with ubuntu studios a little but would like something stripped down for sound with low latency signals etc...
keep in mind im new to this so i dont no any scripting (but i would like to learn)

so basically i would like distro that i can use as a begginer and continue using with no limitation once i become more linux savvy with the best possible sound capability!

P.S sorry if this throng section could'nt find a better spot to put it

Welcome to the Open Source Software!
I recommend you a Debian-based Linux Mint. For you claim yourself a begginner, it will suit your needs. Anyway, for better results, you should install a realtime kernel (the ones with the -rt suffix) using the Synaptic app.
I wish you success. It won't be easy, but you'll learn a lot.

ok thanks for that do u recommend a specific version eg cinnamon or xfce or mate
and could u point please point me in the right direction to start understanding linux editing and the kerrnal stuff
