I was toying around with an idea which resulted in this abstraction. It can be surely improved.
I wanted to have a bang at each bar to trigger events along with the base subdivision tempo. Then I thought that it could be useful to bang every further subdivisions of the tempo beat.
Feel free to use, modify, etc. if you find it useful/interesting.

Why is it that I cannot attach a zipfile? I get this error:

it's not just zip files. it seems we can't attach anything right now. i'm looking into it.

yeah, i mentioned this in the offtopic section yet. and it seems, it's not a question of wich browser is used.
some days ago, the forum was down for some hours - after this, i couldn't attach any files 'til now.

I was thinking about programming exactly the same! For the purpose of making it work as a "Global Transport" to schedule and trigger different actions with the "Transport" output. It should be already implemented on Pd as an "internal clock" and with more development we can creat a full secuencer with progression bars and all.

Thanks, arguser, I'm glad that you find it useful. Anyway, I think that Pd has the main feature of letting you build your own tools. If it came bundled with a lot of ready made stuff many of us would use it like any DAW-sequencer software, then we would learn not as much as we could.
The patch is lacking on triplets and n-plets, though. If you have some time you could try implementing those (missing?) features. Then we will share the building of a tool, what a pleasure!.

Hey,
regarding triggering the events check VisualTracker ( code.google.com/p/visualtracker). It´s sequencer with graphical timeline.
