Hi
In Audacity (and maybe some other sound file editors) you can import raw data-like say a .png file or a mov file and it turns the data into sound (or noise rather)---Is there a way of doing this in PD?
Thanks for your help!
Raw pure data
Hi

see [soundfiler]'s help patch, you can load any file as raw sample data
thanks !
"see [soundfiler]'s help patch, you can load any file as raw sample data"
"i wrote it out an object" -- there's the mistake, it should be a message not an object
See the attached example patch - it successfully loads raw data here

thanks! I got the tables left&right to read out the signal, which they did. however i tried a few other things to get the signal to sound, unfortunately without success. i know there's a really simple solution to this, but i can't seem to work it out...
see the help patches for [tabplay~], or for more control (like variable speed playback), [vline~] and [tabread4~]
