I am trying out using a webcam for position tracking in PD but the latency is way to much for the output value to be usable for controlling sound.

I am using an TRUST Webcam WB-3500T

and I have installed the only driver I can find for it.

What would be a good webcam for getting low latency tracking in PD?

Is it more common for people to just use video cameras for these things?

I use the ps3 eye and latency is very low ( I don't know how to measure though) , also the camera is very cheep and nice for low light conditions.

I got myself the PS3 eye, seems to be both the best and most cost effective choice

I recently got a PS3 eye also. Have only messed around with it a little but am satisfied so far. As noted, it seems to have low latency for a webcam.

My only complaint is the base, it would be nice if it allowed for a bit more range of positioning. Of course, if you are installing in a fixed location this shouldn't be an issue.

The X360 webcam is far better than the PS3 one if you've used it.. I've used both and I find the first better than the latter
