Just the thing for an afternoon with the newspapers. I recommend a slice of lemon.
Couldn't find the [lemon~] or [sugarcube~] operators though.
PS I will write this up a tut soonish so I explain how it works.
Cheers,
Andy

Rad!
i dont have ead~ how can i get it ?
You sir, are amazing.
I do not have the ead~ object, so the patch doesnt quite work, but I love the idea of you applying your knowledge of detailed sound crafting techniques to absurd, rediculous, silly things like this. Its genius! ;o)
Cheers Zenpho,
There's some method in the madness, trust me The tea is a good example of what we CSers call a boundary condition which makes a wonderful test case to try and break/refute a method. In this case it's the codependency between the liquid depth and the space left in the cup which changes the properties of excitor and resonator simultaneously which is unusual. Lots of my work is out on an island at the moment, I'm still trying to find film and game sound designers who "get it", and more importantly have the courage to try and move sound design forwards from pedestrian "static" methods. But anyway, my goal is to write a book for next generation sound designers and examples like "Tea" are examples to try and teach the *methods* . You can find some of these tutorials on my site, but you will need to locate [ead~] (or better the whole pd-extended release for your platform) to fully enjoy them. Thanks for your encouragement.

Hi,
I'm a newbie with pure data but I found a good treatment : "Practical synthetic sound design - by Andy Farnell".
Thanks Obiwannabe for this ! It's not so easy for me to follow pure data's objects logical, but I do like the philosophy , the general point of view (ear), with a so clever sense of nonsense and humour lol !
So... I've got a problem (at least It's about the "Bubbles" patch in the tutorial :
Impossible to make it work : I conclued it was the objet ead~ which was missing. I've got the pd extended yet... Can you help me please ? By advance thank you.
Sorry for my so frenchy english lol

Ta JeaM, YVW, but about the [ead~] ,maybe I should collect Win and Mac versions of things commomly missing from my patches, anybody want to email me fairly recent Mac and Win versions of [ead~], and [delta~] please? - then I will put them up with links to them t make things easy.

ok, here are the mac .pd_darwin files for delta~ and ead~
You will need to locate your 'extra' folder and put the .pd_darwin files in there.
* ctrl-click (right-click) on your Pd-x.xx.x.app icon, and select "Show Package Contents"
* the .pd_darwin files need to go in the Contents/Resources/Extra folder
and here is delta~
Cheers mate,
I've put them up as
http://obiwannabe.co.uk/puredata/externs/ead~.pd_darwin
http://obiwannabe.co.uk/puredata/externs/delta~.pd_darwin
and I'll make a "commonly missing externals page" sometime
to link to them where people can find it too.

Thanks a lot !
I succed to make my faking bubbles (using ead~) installing pd extended 39 (windows) ... But it's so much better to add only missing externals !
Just one thing anyway : the links (delta~.pd darwin and ead~.pd darwin) above is for mac ? What about PC (and windows) ? By advance thank you.
whats a darwin file? do i just delete the _darwin from it?
it's an external for mac. if you're on mac, you should put it in the 'extra' folder for pd, and then it will work in pd just like any other object.
if you're not on mac, then maybe wait until someone gives ob1 the windows files for [ead~] and [delta~]
oh ok
i'm not on mac
I will post them up when I get windows .dll versions LB,
Anyone get em?
btw I put up this
http://www.obiwannabe.co.uk/html/toys/transloss/transloss.html
as it got a good response on the list, it's not really a "synthesiser"
because it only makes one kind of sound which is an ever changing
sequence. But it sounds cool I think.
Hey - check out my avatar! It works! teh k3wl!

Hi,
The link above doesn't work with windows ead~ and delta~ ...
On one computer, I installed Pd extended 39 and ead~ is inclued there. On another machine I've got Pd extended 38 (for windows) and ead~ is missing.
What can I do to add the missing external to the 38 extended 's version ? (without installing 39)...
Can I stuck the .dll in the extra file ? What's the best for me to do ? And... what is the real way to do so ?
In tutorials, some people say "copy the .dll in .bat" ... But I dont have any folder .bat in my Pd ...
I'm lost (in translation lol) ... But I proceed my effort. Anyone can help me ?
Just unpack the installer and copy [ead~].0.39 into the externs folder should work fine.
I'm not sure how you do that in Windows actually.

Thanx
