Hello all (my first post here)

Just started to learn PD. Im doing a surface for my Akai LPD8 at the moment, view attached.

Some questions.

I was looking for a knob, couldnt find one in PD. But when i looked around here in the forums i found the Korg Nano abstraction, with knobs in it, i copied those over to my patch. My question about this is. Where did this knob come from? Was it hidde all the time somwhere in pd? or was it a speciall build or something of the patch i opened? Are there more of these hidden things in pd, and where can i find them?

Question 2:
If you look at my patch to the far right is a little thing ti light up my pads on my my controller when a note is sent. I am not sure about the [== notenumber] part, is that the way to go?

the knob is [knob].

there's no 100% complete "pd bible" out there, so your best bet is to search this forum or google around..

You're on the right track. Change it to this:

[== 38]
|
[sel 1]
|
[43(

The [== ] will send a 1 if true, 0 if false, but right now it's triggering for both true and false. The [sel 1] will only bang out its left outlet when it receives a 1, which will ensure that only note number 38 lights up the pad.

what do you think about metronome controlled strobes ? is there a better way ? the LPD has trouble keeping up with the super fast metronome... i think maybe using a toggle is the issue...

anyways this is for you to play with jonka...

i think im gonna use this to open and close gates.
