Hello PD forum folk, I recently took my first step into PD for procedural audio after some time with Max/MSP. I have put together a demo project, using GEM to load static images as a storyboard, that is working well.

However, when I try to create an app to distribute my project for critique, the images no longer appear and the GEM area is just black. I have tried both making the app from patch and from folder in various locations on my drive, to no avail.

If there is someone who perhaps knows why this is I would be very grateful for their advice.

are you including the image files in the folder with the patch, and giving them the correct paths?

I am including them in the same folder as the patch, which, as far as I can tell from the GEM documentation, means I do not have to specify the path. I may be wrong.

They work fine in the patch, but not the app created from it, even if that is in the same folder.

yeah not sure. you are using the 'create application' function in pd-extended? that was buggy for me when i tried it. may be best just to bundle a copy of pd extended with your patch, and include a readme how to get it going. anyway, the app creator just does that sort of thing anyway.

Hi, I think I will go with bundling pd extended in with it, unfortunately nothing I have tried has worked. Thanks very much for your advice though, it is appreciated.
