I need an information: is it possible "export" a PD patch as an application?

In particular: I want to create a stand-alone software, developed with PD, which can be used in many plattaforms in which it's not installated PD.

I want to create an .exe file!

IS IT POSSIBLE????

HOW COULD IT BE DONE?

pretty sure it's not possible. there is an app that turns pd patches into vst effects / instruments though.

i think it is possible but not yet released by anybody. Had talk with a develloper about this, i was asking him if it could reduce process charge to compile a version of a patch for having it available in pd as a closed to edit compiled version, he tell me that is possible to devellope something that do the job. I don't know if there is any project around this purpose now.

Could be the next killer function for PD, compiling in one click in vst .dll format, .so LADSPA, .exe standalone, .dll or .so externs for pd.

I had found a little java prog that convert .pd in .dll externs back in the day, but i have loose it, if someone have the url.

I'm not an expert of PD, I'm approching to it from few days... so please excuse me if I'll say something wrong...

... however, it seems that PD can produce C source code; my idea is: if I compile this source code with a C builder I would be achieve the executable file. (???)

That's very exciting Sim, so good luck with your experiments. What would be nice is a "pd2c" preprocessor that could output in one or all of the following formats -

1. .dll template for VST plugins
2. a LADSPA plugin skeleton
3. a Qt framework to compile stand-alone apps

When you get somewhere with it you have volunteers for test,

I think this is one of the main differences between max and pd!

Pd patches are always open source.

I remember reading that pd can't export to executables because off patent issues with max (I could be wrong...)

I'm a newbie too, but did once come across a standalone sequencer built in Pd.

It was a work-in-progress called "Live Builder",.. if I remember right
