pdLive! is a set of patches that I took hereby and re-aranged to build an environnement to use pd as a live instrument, mixer, looper, effect ... sufitiently friendly. The environnement is develloped so that every loop recording and some effects can be synched to a Master metronome making things much more easy.

Feedback and suggestions are welcomed.

First of all, thank you for all these great patches!

I think there's something I'm missing, though. I can't use the master metronome for looping in the main patch 00_pdLive.pd. I get "error: inlet: expected 'float' but got 'bang'" 8 times every metronome bang. The problem comes from the amrfloat subpatches in the LoopGenerators : their second inlet is connected to the metronome output, which sends bangs, but inside the amrfoat subpatches, the second inlet is connected to the right inlet of a float object. I understand why pd is sending this error, but I don't know how to get the thing working. Can you help me? I'm using pd-exended 0.41.4 on macosx.

The error message comes from the fact that the second inlet should be a toggle, in the way the patch was used before.
It seems that there is an overall problem with the armfloat abs, I will look into it. For now if you want to use the loopers you can use the attached version of the main patch (just without the armfloat) the trigger of sampler won't be synched to the metro...

I like JazzDrumBox and also drum machine looks usable (good GUI trick with bang on toggle - I did't know there is "reversed" priority and mouse clicks controls lower objects)

... But I have to say I'm kind of lost in so many patches. Is there a reason for not to have all abstractions shown in one general patch ?

For such a modular system I would suggest something similar to Reaktor or Bidule.

Check the screenshot of simple signal router I'm using for connecting my absractions attached. (non-signal cables are just "fake" representations of real audio cables - it helps me to think about all the equipment together )

The amazing jazzdrumbox patch is from Andy, many of the patches here come from forums and posts from users.

There is so many patch because it's a collection (even if some patches are very close to each others, maybe I'll make a selection later)

• the CTL patches deal with data ( for instance : midi seq, midi automations, or fiddle and bonk analyse to track signal and send midi notes and vel)
• Fx are fx
• S patches are instruments to be played with midi keyboard, or with ctl patches.
• z patches are used in other patches and can be used to create new ones.

Instruments patches are meant to be browsed with your classic browser, and I wanted them to be opened in a new pd window. But I guess I could add a menus to the main mixer patch to open synth, ctl patches and fx

The workflow 'should' be to first select your sounds/instruments select the audio bus then they are caught in the main window and that's were the patching begins with effects and controls. The main limitation is that I only have 5 audio buses for now, but I should add some more later on, a signal router may come in handy at that time .

This is an awesome collection of patches and a nice way of putting them all together.
