Is there any way to send the video I'm generating in the gem window to another program. For example, could I send my gem video to a program like iMovie where it was perhaps treated like a webcam and thus recorded.

with a hardware framegrabber...if you just want to record it, use a screencaptureprogram like CamStudio

you can even natively save it to your disc
don't remember the object tho
i think its mostly like writing .wav's

You mentioned IMovie, so I assume you're on a MAC. AFAIK you can't pipe the GEM output to another application So you will have to do the recording in PD.

Look up the [pix_snap] and [pix_record] objects. They should do the job.
