Hey all,

I have a list of numbers in a text file and table.
I'm using 'repeat' and 'urn' to generate a random list of the contents of the table going into 'tabread'.

I then want to separate the list of numbers coming out of tabread. When I try to do this using trigger and floats I only get the last number out of all the outlets.

What I want it to have each number on its own. But how but how??

Kinda feel like I should know how to do this already but I admit I'm stuck.

I'm not 100% sure I understand what you're going for, but I think [list-drip] might be what you need.

I don't think that is what I'm looking for.
Doesn't work whern I try it in my patch anyway. Still the same problem that the last number of the list is sent to all triggers, which is what I don't want.
All I want to do is to separate the atoms that are spat out of tabread into individua loutputs.

Maybe the attached patch might help to clear it up?

Would you mind explaining the use of 'clear' set' and the 'add2 $1' message box? Just for my own understanding.

the clear message clears the memory of the [urn] object, otherwise you could only bang the process one time. the set message sets the following messagebox to the value you type after set, in this case i only use set without value to have an empty message box. after this i add the 4 values that will be read from the tabread one after the other into this message box. this way i get a list that i can unpack with the [unpack] object.

you can find out more about messages, if you right click on a messagebox and choose "help" in the context menu. in the window that appears, you can get further information on messages, if you click on the [pd changing-messages] subpatch on the bottom of the window.
