Does anyone know if it's possible to get the output of PD patches into Ableton? Vista is the os. I haven't found anything too substantial on the net. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Output PD into Ableton/Vista

Hi Sinus~;o)
I believe the most popular router software being used by folks here is Jack, generally for Mac and Linux.
But, there's a Windows version too, at: http://www.grame.fr/~letz/jackdmp.html
And, I;d love to hear how it goes for you, as I'd been thinking to install it to,,,, but, if I remember right, one has to 'compile' it or something, which has deterred me from even thinking of going down that road so far.
Good luck, and keep well ~ Shankar

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually looked at Jack for Windows and it's a bit out of my league. I have know idea how to set it up or even what to do with it.

Ah, yes, I see that I did indeed install Jack sometime ago (Win XP).
But, again yes, it says it can't start up when it starts up, and then doesn't show Pd in its patchbay or anywhere.
So, finally yes just one last time for now,..... I'm looking for an alertnative internal router too~;o)
Keep well ~ Shankar

As far as routing windows on audio it seems like nothing plays nice with PD.
FYI Jack for windows has a binary now so you don't have to compile it. I got it to work with other apps but not PD. I use ReaRoute (part of Reaper) for other programs but yet again it doesn't seem to like PD.-Jon

not on xp anymore but as far as i remember you have to do some reg,dll stuff and then jackrouter should show up as asio-audio-dev. there should be a readme describing the process.
good luck

i use jack on mac osx and i love it.
i've rarely used pd on windows machines though, so i don't have much advice there. gem doesn't play nice with windows, so i try to avoid it.
