I'm working on this patch, but the chords piece of it is clicking every time a random number is assigned to the frequency of a band pass filter. i used

probably a simple issue.
any ideas? patch attached along with one abstraction

on that note, what's the best way to gather .pd files so that someone else can easily use it?

[$1 10( -> [line] send a stream of numbers for 10ms, so your ead~ is like constantly retriggered for this 10ms.
The initial bang from metronome would be the one you need to trigger ead~.
Also, if the ead~ have 50ms of attack then 200ms of release, the metro woud be 250ms (50+200) to avoid clicks.

Also i am not sure [line]->[bp~] is what you want to do, [line] send a stream of numbers and not an audio stream, so it would not be smooth enough and will produce some hearable cracks.

[line~] -> [some bandpass filter object that can have audio stream as control input] would probably be better. (i think there is one not remembering the name).

is there a way i could randomize the bp~ frequency without triggering the ead~ and without clicks? like, the chord is playing constant but the filter jumps around smoothly? that's what i was going for originally.
