Maybe add an envelope generator so you don't have such hard attack and end. You would still get retriggering glitches. Alternating between two [tabplay~] would fix this.

how would one alternate between two

A counter connected to [mod 2] will alternately produce a 1 or 0

Then, using [sel 0 1] you can turn that to two alternate bang messages.
