Hey folks,

I was searching everywhere for a way to get my new iPod Touch to work like a wireless touch controller to Pd (and hence to everything else), but couldn't find one --- so I made one. It's really just an OSC mapping for routing the default Mrmr "Performance.mmr" interface, but if you're interested it would save you heaps of time, even though it's not really anything difficult to make.

I tried this & it's very neat controller. This is the first time I use my ipodTouch in action as well as using OSC. The work around is actually in iPodTouch or iPhone jailbreaks which I was not aware before. And after it connects with your computer and hooking up the send/receive, WoW. Very useful, an alternative to using the computer keyboard. The thing that bugs me is every time my iTouch goes to sleep mode, I have to reload the performance.mrmr again. So I just reset it to never sleep mode. Other than that its beautiful. Thaanks for sharing...

Thanks. You can create your own UI's to Mrmr. There's a PDF to download with a guide on the Mrmr project page, and source code to download for the UI builder. You just need the Mac devtools installed to compile it. If you do compile it, and it's in Leopard, let me know. My devtools are broken, and I'd like a binary of the UI builder...

I had problems building it too. There is a binary of the UI builder (mrmrIB.app) on this (crazy) page: http://poly.share.dj/projects/#mrmr . But it dosn't work for me either. Any clues?

I have been just trying to use MRMR, using PD as midi bridge. The patch that i have used is the one called PdiPod 0.01. I have succesfully transmitted midi messeges between ipod and PD software. The problem comes when i see the status screen in PD, and i see that there is some kind of error with accelerometerX and accelerometerY signals. I mean, is just as PD couldnt interpretate accelerometer X and Y signals. The problem is that because of this error (i think), PD can reacive and assign the midi messages to other buttons (sliders, buttons, etc) that do work.

I'm really new on this, maybe the error i am having could be another thing. But according to what i see could be what i am saying

I would apreciate if somebody can help me with this because im so anxious to create music using my ipod as a midi controller. I think im lasting just one more step to rich what i want.

Hi.

I never did anything more with "PdiPod". But since it's out there for anybody to change I hoped sombody might take it and build on it to keep up to date with changes in iPod firmwares, updates to Mrmr, etc. I don't know for sure if anybody did, but I don't think so.

I downloaded the latest Mrmr the other day. I haven't used it in a long time now, but it seems to be updated quite substantially. As I said, I haven't updated PdiPod (just a patch, really) to deal with the updates in Mrmr. When I first built PdiPod there was no support for the accelerometer as far as I can remember. Maybe this error you speak of has something to do with this now being implemented in Mrmr. It shouldn't be too difficult to route these messages (if you can catch what they're named) into one of the preset buttons, pads or sliders in PdiPod.

I might have a look at it when I have some spare time.

All the PdiPod patch does is receive OSC messages predefined in the default "performer" Mrmr patch and route them into some arbitrary controls I set up. If you can get your head around how this is set up, you could easily change it to receive accelerometer messages as well.

thats great.......it works on my windows machine and Iphone 3G! Are there any recommendations for OSC to MIDI on Windows XP? I am pretty new to PD so I have no idea what I else need. I also found this here.....

I found Midi-Yoke but I still got the Problem that the [OSC] object is red dotted. So it seems to be that there`s something missing and no communication. Please help!
