I've tried to build a distortion just using some parametric filters for boost the input signal,and than a clipper..
..but the results are not so good..
do you have some suggestions?

I havent find any good distortion algorithms on the web..

I've been playing with the technique posted by domien for a guitar amp simulator effect. I used a much smaller table (12) and tabread4~. This is much easier to fine tune. Follow it with some EQ and freeverb~ and it sounds as good as any other amp simulator I've used.

I took arif's waveshape array and made it time dependent (with attack and release settings). It's just an example and could be made better.

Should be a little closer to an amp simulator.
