Hello,
I'm running Pd on a macbook pro 2015 2.5Ghz intel core i7 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
along with Ableton Live. I've got a bunch of analog and digital sensors coming in via an Arduino Mega running Firmata. As soon as I fire up pd and start triggering my sensors the fans kick in and run full blast. Apple replaced the logic board and fans but it is still happening. It hasn't crashed but it can't be good for the computer to have the fans racing the all the time. Anyone else have this problem and a solution? Below is my patch, it's a modified pduino patch. Thanks in advance for any insight on this issue. CREATIVE_TECH_PATCH.ps

macbook pro fans run high and constant with pd

p.s. I am running pd-extended which I know is no longer supported. Wondering if this could be the problem?? So if I go back to pd vanilla how would I deal with the lack of autoscale and speedlim objects? I need them for my set up. Thanks.

i had this issue using pd-extended with gem. it even would fail to force quit. the solution was to use activity monitor from applications/utilities to force quit the program.
