I've built a midi controller in pd that takes incoming ASCII numbers from my laptops qwerty keyboard and converts the data to midi note on off messages to control a synth I'm building. Ive got some good functionality out of it but I can only have one voice at a time i.e. i cant have any polyphony/play chords when holding down more than one key...I can see this is because in the [key] object I'm using can only output one value at a time.
Are there any objects that could output multiple ASCII numbers at a time? The patch is below, one inside open the sub-patch labelled QWERTY

think this will work last one i missed out the velocity message for [makenote]

@mholes1 You might be able to do it using [key] and [keyup]....... needs looking into unless someone has done it already....... woof! Gilberto will know (or EEight)! If you turn the note on with [key] and off with [keyup] that might do it!

This is one way, but key repeats are a problem. The only way I found so far is to turn them off in the system keyboard settings, but you need to turn them back on afterwards otherwise text editing will be a nightmare.
I did make a key repeat filter using [change] but was only effective for mono

@heyok Thats it! I was so close with my key repeat filter but not close enough and it was done 9 years ago!
