I remember an email fro STEIM about a workshop on creating glitch sounds using the computer's internal sounds (unfortunately I didn't attend it). I wonder, is there a way to capture those sounds the machine is making? Without using a microphone...

Maybe it's not clear. Anyone attended the STEIM workshop I mentioned, anyway? What was it about? It just sounds very interesting.
