This may be quite a simple question, but I am a newbie with pure data.

I downloaded this file:

But when I connect my .wav file by pressing the blue button which is on my desktop and press the red playback button nothing happens.

Do you know what went wrong or are there some other settings I should check?

Hi Anna,

I can only guess that you didn't switched audio computation in pd. You can do it in Media=>DSP on. If it still doesn't work, please, upload your patch, so we (community) can see what's causing the troubles for you.
BTW, you should've post the question in "technical issues" section. "output~" is for showing the world what you have done with pd.

are you talking about the D2.playing_back_a_table patch?
If yes, the patch works fine. You just have to load the audio file with the blue button and play it (red button). Your configuration is ok just check if the dsp is on (compute audio on the main pd window) and the volume fader is not to zero.

I did a screenshot for you, because I think I still fixed compute audio and there's still no sound. (And yes, the speakers of the laptop are switched on too..... .. )

look at the console, it's a weird/dodgy .wav file

there was a problem encoding the wav file, try another one, or change your wav file making software
