Hi everyone,

I'm working on some clicks&cuts-track and need a patch that converts incomming midi note pitch into periodic midi triggers at the according frequency of the note.
The output note triggering should not vary in midi note pitch but only in the triggering rate.
Did anyone build something similar already?

Do you want to send 440 midi msgs every second whenever you receive a 440 hz midi note ? Did I understand well ?

In my humble opinion managing high freq midi messages with precision isn't possible, as messages in pd are bound to blocksize.
Maybe this could be worked around programming an external ...

But IMHO you should first ask yourself whether this is possible at all under your peculiar OS, I mean for example that under Linux such high speed midi triggering needs fine tuning like HPET frequency (among others- I'm not very aware of details).
And where do you send these high freq midi msgs ? Has the receiver high freq resolution ?

i want to send from pd to my host via MIDIyoke.

I just tried out to trigger midi notes by the metro object...as you said the result was fairly bad...
if note-rolls in the piano roll are retriggering very fast, the result is much better. is it because the sequencer itself doesn't use midi or is it timed another way?
