Hi,
has anyone developed any patches to generate rain sound on various surfaces? Rain on trees, on roofs, on metal sheets, on water...
Thank you,
a.

RAIN folder in the tarball here http://aspress.co.uk/sd/

Check Andy Farnell's Designing Sound book, includes much more for sound design, all in Pd https://mitpress.mit.edu/9780262014410/designing-sound/

Thank you.
Windywindow.pd it's quite nice.
Instead with rain_on_water.pd it gives me this problem (pd 0.54 on linux):
(I downloaded tarball of all files) -
@atux you have to download the motex library and change it to
[motex/ln~]

I use pd 0.54 on Ubuntu 22.04.
This I downloaded:motex-v0.0.extended-(Linux-i386-32)(Linux-amd64-64)-externals.tar.gz
Then I entered the path in the Preferences.
It does not work, I got a frenzy of "unknown API" in pd console.
[EDIT] this:
...an endless list.I don't understand what you mean by "change it to [motex/ln~]"
[EDIT: now I understand, but the above problem remains]Thank you,

@atux you have to go into the patch that uses
[ln~]
and change it to[motex/ln~]
. (though if you add the motex folder to your path then you don't have to)you can usually control-click the error in the console and it will bring you to the missing object
post a sample of the actual errors and maybe we can troubleshoot.

@atux those messages have nothing to do with this issue, it means there's no audio backend set afaict
