I kind of assume that this is not possible, that is what my googling points towards, but...
Can you set the playback speed of readsf~?
readsf~ varispeed?

@cfry No, not really.
You can use [switch~] to live switch the playback speed without a crash since at least Pd 0.50..... but only doubling or halving (and doubling or halving again as many doubles or halves as you desire).
not varispeed.zip
But you need an array for true varispeed in Pd.
David.
Hey @cfry, I was reminded of your question because I just learned how to make Pd process audio faster than realtime. This isn't really readsf~ in varispeed, but I'm assuming from some of your other posts that your memory is as tight as your files are long. This patch uses a 1.45s buffer and fills it with readsf~ in quick bursts. I wonder if something like this is what you were looking for? varispeed buffered readsf~.pd
@jameslo seems very interesting. My current piece is already installed and running but I will try it out asap. Thanks for letting me know!
@cfry You're welcome! I think I messed up a few details though, the biggest one being that when you reset the phasor~ phase, I think you have to step to the next index that phasor~ would have stepped to if it weren't interrupted by a buffer refill. This version also uses a 0.145s buffer instead. varispeed buffered readsf~ 0.145s.pd
Oops! Looks like something went wrong!
