Hi, I'm using Pd-0.47-1-64bit on Max OSX 10.11.6.

I found this weird behavior today which you can reproduce by the following steps.

1. create an object box and type any object name (for example, type "spigot")

2. As soon as you type the object name, create another object box. You will see an empty object box being created right below the object you just created.
   

3. Undo creation using shortcut (Command + z on Mac OSX)

4. You will see an empty object box is just created on top of the first object you created.

Can anyone please confirm this?

I can confirm on 0.48, it's probably because the last things pd did was to move & connect the object after creating it so really it did "undo" the last thing, just not everything. This might be easier to fix when there's more than 1 step of undo in pd though

@cuinjune I guess that the "undo" has only gone back by one step. If autopatch is on then the object being created is attached to the outlet of the last object created, and moved below it. I imagine "ctrl-z" has only undone the connection and movement operation, leaving the empty object created where it would have been by (for example) a copy paste operation.
A little more logic would be needed in the tcl code to remedy this, so you could post a bug.
I found autopatch so annoying that I stopped it permanently with the -noautopatch flag.

Hi @whale-av The same problem occurs even if I undo creating a number box.
It creates an empty object box on top of the first object. so I guess it is simply a bug.
Should I report this on https://sourceforge.net/p/pure-data/bugs/ ?

@cuinjune I guess so. If you select "put" from the menu the object follows the mouse. If you are creating with a shortcut it would be better that the same thing happens, or at least that the object (or copy) is created with an offset (as is the case in extended). If you lose focus on the new object then deletion is harder..... bug?.... but not useful.
