    Hi All,
Im doing this patch for an assignment and am having some real problems with it.

Eventually it will contain 2 synths that will perform a soundscape sort of music.

I am doing the first synth at the moment and it uses Karplus Strong Synthesis and I am sequencing some notes to test it as i go along.

    Variable labeling works as follows:

    Example: Syn1MetroSpeed
is the Speed of the metro clock on Synthesizer 1
(I am still working on the first Karplus Strong synthesizer- The second one hasnt been made yet)

    [pd Initialise] sets initial values
[pd Syn1Play] sets the play and stop buttons to initialise values and start/stop metro.
[pd Background] makes the LPF and MetroSpeed increase and decrease incrementally

My first problem is that i get continuous stack overflow errors in the console. Does anyone know why?

My second problem is that Syn1MetroSpeed starts at 10 or lower then increases when i press play, but its supposed to start at 100 and then increase as controled by [pd Background].
Even weirder, if play is pressed while it is increasing, it starts from the point that play was pressed at if initialised, (rather than starting from 10 or lower).
    Please help!!
    I am SOOOO confused!
    Thanks!
    Tommy

    Hi all,
Im having a bit of trouble with my patch. its an 8 channel additive synthesizer, which has a small array in the bottom right hand corner of the ui interface. but my problem is that the array isnt showing what id expect of an additive synthesizer. surely, if i set all the odd harmonics to volume-1 and the even harmonics to volume 0 then the array should show a triangle wave but it dosent. Ive made sure the signal isnt clipping and i honestly have no idea why its not working.

    Hope someone can help!

    Many Thanks!

Hi, Dont worry about it. I figured out the problem a few minutes ago :-) I hadnt specified an initial value on the [line]

    Thanks anyway :-)

Hi all, Ive fixed the stack overflow problem. Now i just have the problem of starting at the wrong delay value in the metro. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?
Ive uploaded the newest version of the file.
    Thanks loads

Thanks for the reply Maelstorm. Correct me if i am wrong, but the PowerTogglePrefade recieves 1 in [pd Syn1Initialise] so cannot cause the loop?

hi, Im using pd-extended, where could i find pan~ to send it to you?

The Array is working, in that it displays a waveform and updates when the frequency or volume is adjusted, however, i am under the impression that using only odd harmonics should result in a square waveform, and using all harmonics should result in a triangle waveform, however, this does not happen.

    Many thanks,
    Tommy
