Hi,

for a project i need to output 6 independant audio chanels. A friend told me that all Mac Cpmputers do support S/PDIF Digital Multichanel audio through optical cables. We wanted to use my friends Dolby 5.1 ready HiFi Amplifier, so we could just connect it to my iMac via optical cable and output the audio directly from pure data.

Does anyone know if that is possible at all? I didn't find anything here...

Has anyone used the S/PDIF optical multichanel out from the mac directly from pure data before?

Any hints / suggestions?
