I have a problem I can't find a solution for. I hope that one of you bright heads out there can help me.

I have several streams of 0's and 1's, all perfectly synced to a metronome.

What I'm interested in is to know when all the streams current value is 0 and when one of them is not. These two states has to keep the original sync.

I need this info to build a gate that is only closed when all streams current value is 0.

Is there an object or a smart patching solution that can solve my problem here?

    Cheers!

I've been trying to use the rradical patches/abstractions in a project of mine, but I'm having trouble to actually make them work. I'm not talkning about getting them to load or load without error, but more how you use them in a patch of your own. I've been looking for good example patches that shows how you use them, since I then might be able to figure out how to fit them in in my own project. Especially the sequencers and the various synths and effects, would be nice to see some examples of.

    Can anybody help me?

    Cheers!

I'm new to PD so please excuse me if I've just overlooked something.

I'm working on a rather complex patch where I have a need to keep track on Bars, Beats, Quantize and 1/16, 1/32, 1/64, 1/128 and if possible triplets as well.
I've been working on a solution all day, and have come as close as I can working in miliseconds because thats how the "metro"-object is working. And then it hits me, this would be much easier if there were a way to keep the timing in PD in normal musical terms instead: Bars, Beats, Quantize, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64, 1/128 and triplets. my problem is that there is no direct translation of these "terms" from miliseconds, which makes the timing sluggish.

Is there an object or an easy solution that I've overlooked or am forced to work in miliseconds?

    Any help would be appreciated!
    Cheers!

I know a new object that will be able to read a lot of different interfaces is under development and should be about finished according to the last info I found about it a while back.
Maybe you should go and ask for help to find a solution for your problem on the PD-mailing list instead. The people developing the new object are active there :)

There is a [joystick]-object out there that I use to tap data from a Logiteck Gampad Rumblepack2 (USB) and it works flawlessly.

I'm not home at the moment, so I can't help you more than telling you that there is an object out there that does what you need (I think).

    Cheers

    Yes it does!

Thank you very much for uploading these examples and showing me the light! I've spend hours trying to find a way around this problem.

    Thanks for answering!

Yes an array of or's would do the trick, but for some reason I had gotten into my head that Pure data didn't have a simple or-object - I have found it now though.

Now all I need to do is to construct the array so the output always changes at the same time as the input. Any change should immediately be seen in the output of the array. There will be 10 inputs or there about. Only 1's and 0's are used.

If there is a smart way to do this i wouldn't mind an example patch at all :)

    Cheers!

Ok, I did a few tests in PD and it looks like the metro-object accepts not only integers but also decimal numbers, so I guess all my problem is non-excistent.

Thanks for your fast replies to my initial post, it lead me to the solution!

    Cheers!

Thank you very much for your all your answers, and patches!

I've been working under the impression that only integers were handled by the "Metro"-Object, but the patches posted gives me the impression that this might not be the case.

I guess I could have made my original question a bit less complex: Does the "Metro"-object only accept Integers? or does decimal numbers like say 66.6667 work as well or is the input truncated?

    Cheers!
