I've just been commissioned to write this piece where the ensemble incorporates a mezzo-soprano with a contact mic that is hooked up to PURE DATA. I have absolutely zero experience in electronic music, but I'm decent with computers so I thought that I might be able to figure out the program, but I downloaded the program and I'm completely lost. I don't want to do anything that complex with the program- just make the text inaudible to various degrees throughout the piece. Would anyone be able to explain to me in simple terms how I might do this? It would be so greatly appreciated as I don't have long to write the piece and I'm desperate! Thanks so much!!
