Hi there everyone.
I'm currently working on a project, where i want to control video using a Passive Infra Red Sensor connected to a BASIC Stamp microcontroller. I've read somewhere on the internet that Pure Data and GEM can be used to control or manipulate a video in realtime. Is it true? I mean, can i use them (PD and GEM) for my project? If so, how can i program them to read data from a serial port?

hmm, i reccently reinstall my pd-extended 0.41-4. however during startup, I founded that only PiDiP, GEM and PDP are loaded. Other libraries got message like:

libdir_loaded: added 'freeverb' to the global objectclass path

and it happen for all the library. Any suggestion for this? I've tried to copy the .plist file that in my opinion would load all the library on the/Content/Resource. but so far, no use. Any help probably?

sorry, same problem here...i've tried to load Nestor's plist but i still cannot make sendOSC... why is this? i'm a little bit frustrated with all this problem. i mean, i can load pdp, pidip and gem by just add them to the startup flags, but why can't i load oscx on startup?

well, thank you there konsumer, but i have another question. I've setup the PD and IR sensor, so that every output from the sensor will trigger a bang. But since the characteristic from the sensor is that it will give a high output twice from a single detected movement. The problem is, i only need the sensor to trigger a bang once. Do you have any idea how to solve this problem? many thanks in advance

is there any differences between the firmata and the simple messaging system? I'm also working with IR sensors, arduino connected to PD, and i need to read inputs from the arduino, so which external is better? I've tried the firmata, it works well, but i still don't get how this external works...

have you set the I/O port (not the serial port) correctly? mine's working, and i'm using intel mac with pd-extended 0.39-3 just like you. Oh, do you have the FTDI USB Serial driver? I'm using it. It might be useful...
