I installed PD today and whenever I try to select ASIO in the media menu PD becomes inoperable, the cancel, apply, and ok buttons in the audio settings window do not work, and I cannot close the program. I am using a Lexicon Alpha audio interface with Asio4All drivers, which work fine in Reaper. No combination of settings allows me to hear sound from the testtone.pd. I'm in Windows XP (32bit).

I really hope it's possible to resolve this issue as I was really looking forward to starting to create instruments and effects with this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How do I go about setting the driver before startup? All I really need it to do is get it outputting via Rearoute into Reaper.

I have the extended version installed (0.43.4). Your link is for the vanilla one, should I try that instead?

Can anybody help? I've tried so many things, but whenever I select "ASIO (via portaudio)" it just stops working.
