    Hi all,

I'm a PD newbie, I'm just trying to understand how to receive an audio input in realtime, and then analyze it splitting it's spectrum in several bands for some audio processing.
If what I've understood is right, arrays are not the best for what I want to do.
For the analysis fiddle~ could with bandpass filters could be good.

    Suggestions?

    D.

@mod: no, it's a personal project, i apologize for the newbie question.

@dwan: my idea is: a patch that outputs different synthesized or input-processed sounds (with pitch detection) for each spectral band, keeping some of the input sound characteristics like duration, intensity.. all in realtime. is it possible? thank you so much for the patience.

    hi dwan,

    sorry for my newbie-problem.

I've seen fft, but i don't know how to do what i want.

If what I thought is correct, for a real-time thing I need an fft/ifft loop with 2 buffers: one for continuous resampling and one for analysis (ex. pitch detection).
I've read fft~ documentation but what object could help me with the 2 buffers (probably tabwrite~)?

    Thank you.
