Hi folks,
I'm quite new to Puredata and so far I like it a lot. However while mangling some samples I occasionally don't get any audio output. I get an error message in the Pd window, which is red and says : audio I/O error. This problem occurs only when I use samples. No problem with computer generated oscillations.

Does anybody know what causes this problem? I'm not sure if it is related to bad coding or hardware (my hard drive is near to death)?
I use a MacBook with Snow Leopard installed on it and Pd 0.43.4-extended.

Yes, indeed I'm quite sure that I have made a mistake somewhere. So, the category technical issues seems to be more appropriate for my post.

When I launch the following, I get a very loud sound and "audio out" stays at max.
