    Hi folks,

Making a sequencer. Everything was going fine until suddenly this problem showed up, and I'm not exactly sure when or how, but now it is persistent.

I have cut out nearly everything in the patch, just to show you the bare problem.

I have PD going through IAC bus to Massive (also tried with other external synths), but MIDI note 52 and 53 sound the same. I have noticed this occurring with other notes too that are a semitone apart, like 57 and 58 sometimes.

Anyway, if I manually put these numbers in instead of the sequencer, the external synth can suddenly play the two independent notes, but not if the sequencer sends the notes.

Sending these MIDI notes to a PD oscillator works just fine.

Any idea? This realllllly has me stumped... File as attached. Cheers lads!

Hi guys! I've made a patch so that the audio of my guitar will trigger MIDI notes. It's all very glitchy at the moment, so 1 step at a time I guess!

The main thing I'm wondering about is latency. There is quite a bit of it coming from my interface (Elven Rack) into PD, and there's a 20ms delay in the audio settings that makes everything crackle ridiculously if I go any lower. Also, I am using IAC Bus Drivers to go into Mainstage. Dunno if there's any latency issue there. Any suggestions?...

    Thanks in advance :)

P.S. If anyone knows any good guitar audio to MIDI patches, point me in the right direction. I don't wish to copy, but would be very interested in seeing other peoples way about doing this.

Hiya, this is my first post on this site. I am a relative noob to the workings of PD, so prepare for fundamental questions :)

I am trying to explore additive synthesis, starting with the harmonic series. I understand how the series works, but am not sure how to express it in a function so that the result is the sum of the series limited by the nth value

    fund. f number of partials
    [440] [n]

Another curiosity I have is if I wanted to generate a sawtooth wave this way, is there a way to input infinity into the expression?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help :)

Thanks a million for your detailed yet simple explanation. This worked perfectly and I slap myself for not considering the possibility in the first place. I'll sleep better tonight now. Cheer Maelstorm!

Thanks lads. Right off I go to explore these new objects. I kinda figured inputting infinity would crash PD or something alright, was just curious. Cheers for the reply :)

I shall check out that wiki page too. Wow, 5 years ago I never thought I'd be touching sequnece and series ever again after the Leaving Cert!
