    Dear PD Community.

I am running PD-Extended 43.3. I have also tried 43.1. I installed them from .deb because my compile kept failing at the OSC objects. (solutions I could find did not appear to work)

The .deb works well despite being targeted at Raspbi ARM. I can run my patches nicely, I can hear them when I use the HDMI hardware out, it plays through the speakers on my screen nicely.

I can test the sunxi codec hardware output with VLC, this sounds very nice, but when I try the same with PD, it refuses to work.

Due to my lack of experience with Linux in general, I have no idea where to start problem solving. I assume it is most likely PD related, as VLC can select both destinations happily.

Should I go back to trying to compile it myself? Can anyone suggest bits of manual to read, ideas to pursue, or anything else to consider?

Many thanks for your brain cycles.

    Dear Friends.

    Procedural Greetings!

I have recently come to accept PD into my heart, I have repented my sins.

I have also made a wide range of wild assumptions. they seem to be working out, apart from an important final detail.

I am trying to install PDExtended onto an Olinuxino A20 board. This is an ARM chip, works with debian wheezy very nicely. I have found PD packages.deb for raspbian, these appear to have installed without too much drama. I can boot PD, the window comes up, but when I launch the test window, it can create number atoms, yet every other object has red lines. I have added the suggested paths to the paths section, yet this does not fix it.

I did wonder if this would be fixed by compiling it myself, I got quite far with this process, but it bugs out when it gets to some OSC objects, despite removing the -lpd flags from the 'configure' and 'configure.ac' files.

Am I wildly mistaken thinking a raspbian package would work in this instance?

Is this just a case of needing to link the locations, or is something more fundamentally flawed in my thinking here?

I am starting it by typing pd in the terminal. When I had pd vanila going, there was an icon. Not sure if this is relevant or not.

Kinda floundering around in the uneducated dark. Quite fun, but I want to make it go ping!

    Many thanks

    Success!

I am now running 43.4 with your suggested patched jack2, It defaulted to the mini-jack out! No further drama required.

Thanks so much for your tips!

    Nau,

Thanks so much for your pointers, this gives me plenty to consider and rummage. (and most importantly hope!)

    http://puredata.info/docs/faq/commandline << remove the . and it works. :)

I will report back with direct instructions on how to setup this hardware with PD. (hopefully)

    Many Thanks

    Ek.

AHA, I found a puredata Icon within the folders! This has all the objects! WHOOP. Thanks for being there. Just typing out the problem led to the solution.
    Epic. Let the fun begin.
