    Hello,

spent all of yesterday's afternoon trying to compile and install purdata. although i already have purdata installed (default in ubunto studio), it's missing all libraries. so anything i have done in the past whilst playing with puredyne won't work anymore.
Tried to follow the instructions (well, the little that comes with the "Pd-extended for All platforms" release. However, the ./configure ins the pd/src directory won't work
    and so on...
sure someone's done this before. maybe also wrote down the procedure step by step. do i have to log in as root? would it be useful for others if a guide is accessible on the Pd website?

    Thanks for your help, doku

    hi,
i have been following the instructions of kyro.
however it stopped compiling telling me that the videodev.h was missing.
after doing a search on the net i found that this file doesn't exist anymore in 11.04 (64bit)
i also found that this has been fixed recently (end of june).
so, is there another release out there for me to download?
would it be possible to have this at least as a nightly build?

    thanks,
    doku

Thanks again for your reply, kyro.
No, not quite. I am running the 11.04 64bit version.
Checked the directory but it doesn't hold a 64bit version.
Guess i have to stick with compiling a version myself.
    Ta, doku

    Hi kyro,

Thanks for your reply ! Will try compiling the code this eve.
To answer your question: the packages on the pd download site are not compatible with the 11.04 version.

    Thanks, doku
