Hi -- trying Pduino 0.5beta8 on pd-extended 0.42.5 on OSX 10.7.1 on a first generation quad-core xeon macpro, with a recent a Arduino Uno.

All I can get out is this stream of messages on the console, when I select the correct serial port...

    UNKNOWN_INPUT_COMMAND: 0 224
    UNKNOWN_INPUT_COMMAND: 0 224
    UNKNOWN_INPUT_COMMAND: 0 28672
    UNKNOWN_INPUT_COMMAND: 0 0
    UNKNOWN_INPUT_COMMAND: 0 0
    UNKNOWN_INPUT_COMMAND: 0 0
    UNKNOWN_INPUT_COMMAND: 0 0
    UNKNOWN_INPUT_COMMAND: 0 0
    UNKNOWN_INPUT_COMMAND: 0 0
    UNKNOWN_INPUT_COMMAND: 0 0

NO real sensor data is showing up on the outputs, although I have a known good sensor connected to the arduino itself, and none of the pd object controls seem to do anything to the board.

    Questions...

    1. How do I check firmata version on the board?
    2. Do I need a script running on the board for this to all work? Do I definitely need NO script running on the board for it all to work?

What am I missing/what questions do I need to answer to get this to work? Newbie to both arduino and pd, so apologies if i'm not offering all the info you need. FYI Google has not helped so far...

    all help appreciated

ah ok then, i was being a newbie and hadn't uploaded the StandardFirmata sketch using the Arduino editor. After doing that, those errors go away, and the pd arduino object reports Firmata-2.2/StandardFirmata-2.2.

Now, I can click the 'pulse all outputs' checkbox and that's what happens, but I can't seem to get any analog inout values, or address the digital pins... more quesitons

    1. Where is the difference between the various 'flavours' of Firmata sketch detailed? Why are AnalogFirmata and DigitalFirmata separate? Is this documented anywhere?

    2. Anyone got any more example pduino patches i can use to try and debug my setup?

    thanks
