Hi, there. I'm trying to emulate KP3 with PureData. There's some effects that I use now and need to get. For the moment, I upload 3 FXs records from KP3, moving the finger around the pad.

I download some FXs banks, like s-abstractions, Racko_sifredi, Nigredo... but they are so many, that I need someone who can tell me where are these FXs.

Delay 1
X axis: Delay Time.
Y axis: Delay Depth.

Low Cut Delay
X axis: Delay Time.
Y axis: Delay Depth.

Jet (Manual Flanger)
X axis: Delay Time.
Y axis: Feedback.

Talk Filter
X axis: 1st Formant.
Y axis: 2nd Formant.

Maybe, later, I'll upload more FX records.

These are all pretty easy things to do.

Delay: delwrite~ and delread~ for delay, check the help file for these.

Low cut delay - throw LOP~ in there, again, check the help file for that.

Jet (flanger) is a 10-15ms delay mixed in with the original signal, you can use an LFO to control the delay time.

Talk filters are a bit more difficult, but look for information on formant filtering.

Hey, godinpants, thanks for the response. Some weeks ago I started with the FXs part of my project. Your suggestion helped me.

Delay: I learned a lot about them (I had little knowledge). I got one of the delay FXs that I need (I had to record the original one and use Ardour to get the different delay lenghts in beats fractions).

LowCutDelay: LPF is done, Delay1 is done. Now, I have to mix them.

Jet: I used Flanger from DIY2, modified (has no LFO, it is manual now)

Talk Filter: I used "material" FX from DIY2 and a DelayFeedBack (modified), to get the sound. Maybe I have to add the resonance of st-vcf (from DIY2, too) to get a a sound more "through a tube".

Now... there're a lot more of FX to emulate. I would need to understand some stuff...

72dB / oct LPF: what does it mean?

Isolator
X: Low-Mid-Hi
Y: Level&Drive.

The X seems like a Band Pass Filter, and the Y... like a little distortion. I read that Isolator solves ground loop sounds... but I don't know why this is an FX.... and what it is used to.

For the moment, these FXs doubts... later, I'll post more.

72db/oct lpf means for every octave up the sound goes, it drops 72db.

The isolator you've mentioned there is a 3-band EQ.
I would do it through FFT. There might be an FFT mixer in the manual, otherwise there was definitely one on the board.

Level is simple and can be done with *~, and as for drive, there's a few different ways it could be done. One of the nicest sounding ways would probably be wavetable distortion. The simplest though would be to increase the signal level and use [clip~ 1 -1], though that may be an external

Is 72dB/oct a cutoff LPF value? Because this FX have a Cutoff Frequency value... How should I make?

I don't know how to use FFT... and why should I use it.

I attach the FXs list, to show you how many FXs I want to emulate. The main ones, are done (green), some other maybe need some changes (yellow) and others, I won't build them (blue). So, there're a lot... if there's a 72dB/oct FX or an Isolator patchs done by someone... I will use them. Because, if I have to learn about FFT now... wow, I will never finish this project.

Level is easy and Drive maybe is too... I will look for distortions.

72db/oct is called the "slew rate" of the filter and thats not just a feature of lowpass filters. you should really look for some information on how filters work. you can reach higher slew rates by serializing filters with a lower slew rate (like lop~).
