without seeing your patch, it's hard to guess what is happening, BUT, basically if you have data coming in, then you can convert all that data into a simple 1/0 output. So, for example, if your patch recognizes talking, then the state of TALKING would be a 1, and the state of NOT TALKING would be a 0.
So then, you can just use some simple conditionals to check that the value is going FROM 0 TO 1.
the easiest way i can think of doing that, is like this:
[t f f]
\ /
\ /
/\
/ \
[- ](that's a [t f f] object, going into a [- ] object, with the right output of the trigger going into the left input of the minus, and vice versa)
in this case, only when the value goes from 0 to 1, do you get a result of 1.
so, to convert that to a 'trigger' (in pd, you would call this a 'bang', because trigger was a different meaning), all you need is to 'select' the 1.
ie, [sel 1]so,
all in all:
[t f f]
\ /
\ /
/\
/ \
[- ]

[sel 1]now, when you go from a state of 'not talking' to a state of 'talking', you get a bang out of the end. cool?
