Hi,
I own a number of humanoid robots, and they have bluetooth interfaces. I have in my head the idea I can use Puredata to play music from my computer and at the same time send a signal to instruct the robot to perform a move/step.
Running Win7 I know Puredata doesn't have a working HID command, which is why I have learned how to connect Processing to Puredata via OSC.
I have successfully tested sending a packet of data from a Puredata patch, to a Processing sketch, to my bluetooth device and have confirmed the data has been received. That is the hardware all sorted, that means I can send signals from Puredata and it will be received by my robots no problem.
But I am a complete novice when it comes to Puredata, midi's and music.
I basically want to replicate how lights can be synchronized to music, but instead of lights being the output it will be my robots.
Do I need to invent the wheel, or is there a patch somewhere that already has signals connected to music which I can modify for my own music (i.e. mp3, wav file etc) and purposes?
I started two days ago, I've got this far, but I want to put together something for a display on September the 8th and I'm hoping I can fast track it by leveraging the collective talent on this forum.
Thanks in advance,
Michael
