First off, love this site & community, I've learned so much off the back of this forum thread, tutorials and many other patches on this site. People who contribute here are PD heroes.

So I'm building a patch at the moment.

The purpose - to record stories whilst the pd file is playing back random stories over a number of locations (I have my own speaker distribution system set up)

The base of it is set, (I had a button set up via arduino, but since I got a paging microphone I changed record button to when the patch detects audio thanks to a previous thread here)

But now I'm trying to figure out a way to:

After a person records their message, pd plays that specific message back first, so that the person knows they have been recorded and gets an instant reward before going into the random mass shuffle of messages left in the directory.

Any ideas or help would be great.

How about just adding a delay to the input mic while it's recording and setting it's delay time to the length of the recording?

Just a follow up question, how would I set the delay time to the length of recording when it varies on each recording.

Use [timer] to track the length of the recording, and send that [vd~] or [delread~] as soon as the recording stops.
