anybody runs pd-extended on Ubuntu ? I have problem with music card,
the only way to hear the sound in pd is to:
1. set system sound settings as Internal Sound Card and then
2. set ALSA e-mu sound card plug-in as pd sound,

it's annoying

"internet said" that I should run pd as admin but I dk how to do it in Ubuntu (newbe user).

To run pd as admin, enter:

gksudo pdextended

into a terminal window, or the 'run program' dialog box (not sure where to find this in ubuntu default setup)

Warnings aren't necessarily a problem - does the program run anyway? If so, you probably don't have anything to worry about.

Ubuntu asks me for password, I type it and nothing happens

and then terminal command: " pd-extended -rt " should run pd in real time priority

ALSA with E-MU Tracker Pre | USB (plug-in) as input and output works great but displays and error: "audio I/O error"

Enaeer, if you don't hear xruns you could ignore the audio I/O messages, but otherwise a real-time kernel might help out. Although the difference between non-real-time kernel and real-time kernel is in many cases not perceivable, it can sometimes make the difference between garbage and good audio. In my case (with Debian on an old computer) it does. If a real-time kernel is not available as a binary for your system, Sumidero's tutorial may be of help:
