The attached patch works on window7 but not on MAC. I have tried many things. But all unsuccessful. I don't get sound after I press start after opening the file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

umm. patch doesn't have any objects in it??

My OS is MacOS 10.7.5

try sending [1 (

instead of

[start (

if that doesn't fix it, then maybe you have an installation problem. do other audio objects work?

I just noticed that my original patch ( with your sugessted modification) reads .aiff files but not WAV files!

do I need to install an add-on or something to make PD read .wav files? My MacBook reads .wav, and most audio file formats with no problem.

you might have weird wav files? what about if you make a wav file with [writesf~] does that play ok?
