I am trying to load a wav file sample into an array window. The file size is 53678. I've put an array window into the patch along with the following:

[read -resize SampleForGranular1.wav array1(
|
[soundfiler]
|
[0\

I get the error message warning: array1: multiple defined

I'm a newbee to PD/programming, but this is the first time I've been stumped.

you must have another array already named array1.

you'll need to change the name of the second one. may i suggest the charming "array2" ??

I was most taken by the subtle delights of the name array2 and used it, thanks.
Strangely, there was no other array1 in sight, but this still made a difference:
now I get a message saying warning: array2: clearing save-in-patch flag

yes, it has a dark side, that array2. If you want its contents to be saved with the patch, you will have to click its save-in-patch flag again
