Hi!!!

I am trying to set up an audio/visual (interactive) installation using PD. What I am trying to accomplish is this: an audience stands in front of a screen, a camera faces the audience. Something (whether it be a key, button or perhaps even voice activation) TRIGGERS the camera to record about 5-10 secs of the audio and video of the audience. THEN the video is AUTOMATICALLY replayed and looped on the screen.

After that, more 5-10 sec loops are recorded and either layered on top of the previously recorded loops or perhaps tiled neatly next to one another. My goal for this was for the audience to participate in their own sort of sound installation/music performance. Any thoughts on how to go about doing this?

I'm a total beginner and need lots of time-consuming help. But I promise to repay you in half-hearted appreciation!! Just kidding, more like 2/3rds-hearted!

i cannot give you all the attention you would need right now, but i have done the first part of your request (recording and immediately playback of video), so maybe you can learn from my patch if you want, and of course ask questions about it.
Open test -> create a screen -> turn render and input_live on -> choose a filename, where to store the recorded file on with the red "record" button -> press "start/stop" to record -> if the loop anable button is activated, the file will be played back right away, after you stop recording by pressing "start/stop" again.
