just found this link on reverse engineering autechre patches for Max

and you'll find, apart from the max patches, a fully working pd patch of the piece made
by a russian group. Take a look at it, It sounds really good. BTW, it contains a detailed
description of the single abstractions. Instructive...

well, actually more or less Autechre music (Laserbreak: it's a duo considered kind of "electro-pop" guru.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autechre) is like that.. You love them or you hate them, no way..
(I'm in between . Nevertheless there is still lot to learn about PD that also this patch is like manna

I like Autechre but it isnt for everyone

I've seen them do some excellent live stuff. Especially in the early days with a load of analogue gear all wired up with CVs and pre-midi Roland sync. Experimental and quite freeform.

But those patches are bad to me, probably because they are write only code and never intended to be examined or modified. I think there's some bad karma in reverse engineering the patches as an act of "revenge" - if that's not some oblique joke. None of them worked for me, and the ones I could even open were a dogs dinner.

I like the stuff from around '96 (Eutow etc) post 2000 it all gets a bit *meh* for me.

There's an archive of their live performances knocking about on the web somewhere if you want to relive any of those experiences obi.

Ditto on the patches though.
